TM CBJ2 Power Shutdown for Maintenance and Upgrading Work

Please be advised that TM Data Centre has scheduled the following Planned Power Maintenance and Power upgrading Activities.

Maintenance Window Start Date & Time
Start Date : Sunday, 18/9/2011
Start Time : 0001 hr (12.01am midnight) Local time
Maintenance Window End Date & Time
End Date : Sunday, 18/9/2011
End Time : 0700 hr (7.00am) Local time
Duration : Estimated 7 hours
Service Impact:
1) All major TM DC communication equipments will be shut down for approximately ½ an hour (12.00 am to 12.30 am – 18/09/2011)
2) All server/equipment’s racks located at Level 2 and Level 3 CBJ 2 will be powered down without any backup from UPS or Standby Generator . However, this WILL NOT impact any customer’s equipment dual source power supply. Ensure the 2 power cord are tapping at Rack Power Strips different Power DB Source.
3) The equipments with SINGLE POWER SOURCE will be affected
The exercise is necessary in order for TM Property Operation (PO) team to install new Static Transfer Switch (STS) to support the entire power system supporting data center.
Scope of Work:
The main scope of work for this planned exercise is to install 9 units of new STS to the power systems in the data center. Time taken to install one (1) STS is approximately 1 hour; however, depend on situation and human resource the contractor might carry out simultaneously two (2) or three (3) units of STS installation per session.
Below are the works scopes carry out per STS installation:-
a) Shutdown SSB (Sub-Switch Board)– Source “A”
b) Remove the sub-main cables from SSB
c) Terminating new sub-main cables (from STS) to SSB
d) Diverting “old” sub-main cables to STS
e) Energize the STS
f) Power up SSB – Source “A”
The same work scopes will repeat for Source “B” until the entire 9 units of STS are fully installed and commissioned.
Fallback plan:
NO, due to the fact that all the STS have been fully tested and this exercise is only involve plain cables removal and re-termination.
Recommendations:
It is necessary for customers to perform a proper shutdown starting from 2300hr (11pm) on Saturday 17th September and Bigband Support Team will standby and power up of their servers/equipments after the maintenance work has done.
